BENNIFER IS BACK!
Multipe reports have confirmed Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck spent the week at a high-end resort in Montana.. and now the Bennifer rumors are back in full-swing.
I'm here for this early 00's throwback... so for those who weren't around for the nostalgia... here's a taste!
After 28 years together, French electronic music duo Daft Punk announced they're splitting up. The group posted this message to YouTube today:
For almost three decades, Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo provided hits like One More Time, Harder, Better, Faster Stronger, Get Lucky with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rogers, The Weeknd's Starboy and I Feel It Coming.
While 2021 seems like it's already been 5 years long, I hope you're all hanging in there as we near somewhat precedent times.
Like many of you, I have been binge-watching TV shows, doing socially distanced hangouts, Zoom dates/ happy hours and working out at home.. while eating all the snacks.
I also watched the New York Times documentary Framing Britney Spears and have a lot to say about it!
However, it's been a while since I've done a Throwback Monday and to honor the Legendary Miss Britney Spears... this one is for her.
I chose this song because I just finished Entourage and Vinnie Chase appears in this video... however I never say the late-90's classic with him and Clarissa Explains it All.
It's been a minute! Since it's my birthday week, and Billboard
announced Drake's Take Care album has been on the charts for 7 1/2 years... it's time to honor this momentous occasion.
Also, I feel we all need some good music to dance away the anxiety we're all having this week.
During the shelter-in-place, I've been catching up on shows I've been meaning to watch and books I've been meaning to read.
So, I've dived into Jessica Simpson's Open Book. It's been a nostalgic trek through time reading about her career from her mortifying tryout for the Mickey Mouse Club, to Newlyweds, the mom jeans drama and now to her current life.
I realized the poor thing has been through SO much!
Simpson just turned 40 last week, so to honor her... this throwback is for her!
This week's throwback is in honor of the passing of Grammy-award winning Motown artist, Bonnie Pointer, of The Pointer Sisters.
The group is best known for their songs I'm So Excited, Jump and Automatic. She is survived by her brothers Aaron and Fritz and sisters Ruth and Anita Pointer. Pointer died on Monday, she was 69 years old. Mama Kaurdashian was a fan of The Pointer Sisters and Automatic was one of the songs she used to replay on a mixtape my uncle made for her. I have many fond memories listening to this song while in the family van going to Girl Scouts, practice, etc. RIP Miss Bonnie. xoxo
Apologies for neglecting this space.
Once the Rona reared its ugly head, my day job has been keeping me busy.
However, I hope you all continue to follow me on the 'gram!
That's where I keep my most up-to-date celeb news.
While I'm not updating this blog, it doesn't mean I'm not up on my celeb gossip and updates.
As a member of the lambily, it isn't lost on me what the rest of us are doing to boost Mother Mariah's old... and looked past albums.
A couple of weeks ago it was E=MC2 and now it's Charmbracelet.
While Charmie as Mariah call it came after her infamous breakdown on TRL, Mimi has always touted it as one of her faves.
So, to honor the album's resurgence here's my fave. It's a perfect message to remember during these unprecedented times.
What are you guys doing?????? 🤣🤣🤣 I love it!!!! 💖💖💖💖 Charmie is a fave of mine, it's the album only we know! 😘 https://t.co/z2I4l0XwYM
Today the world said its final good-bye to Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the 7 others who died tragically last month in a helicopter crash.
During today's memorial, Beyonce performed her hit XO, which she says was Kobe's favorite.
Eminem made headlines for his surprise performance at the Oscars Sunday night. Prior to that, Em released a new album that is pretty good. A far cry from the other recent ones. So, are we indeed empty without him?
While I'm J.Lo Stan, and loved lastnight's halftime performance, I do have to give Shakira her roses. So, in honor of Throwback Monday here is one of my fave Shakira songs.
Most of the world is still reeling from the sudden death of Lakers and NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Bryant, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, and Ara Zobayan. All nine were killed when the helicopter they were on, flown by Zobayan, crashed in Southern California.
My heart aches for those who lost a loved one in this tragic accident. I have family members who are diehard Kobe fans and learned about his greatness through them. I always found Kobe to be a little on the cocky-side, but grew to appreciate him while watching him play. I really enjoyed Kobe's life during his retirement. Seeing him be a hands-on father with his four daughters. It warmed by heart, as it reminds me of my relationship with my dad.
With that being said, this throwback is dedicated to Kobe. Many may not remember he attempted to dabble in music. May this video bring a little humor to this sad time.
The 49ers have punched their ticket to Miami!
The NFC Champs are headed to the Super Bowl to take on the Kansas City Chiefs.
So, for Bay Area natives... here's a little ditty from the past.
Happy New Year everyone!
It was announced today Miley Cyrus is one of the many performers at this year's Napa Bottlerock Music Festival.
While Smiley Miley has grown up, I can't help but reminisce over the old Miley.
Funny how this song is now the background music to a viral video on Tik Tok!
While everyone is focusing on All I Want For Christmas Is You , THIS is one of my favorite Mariah holiday songs. Yes, she didn't WRITE it but her version moves my SOUL.
25 years after its debut, Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has officially hit number 1 on the billboard Hot 100.
Congratulations, Lambily! You did it!
Today, the legendary Miss Britney Spears was born.... and the world has been better for it. Yes, she's not quite the same but we all have a Britney bop we rock from time to time.
On November 15th, 2011, Drake dropped Take Care. It debuted at no.1, went platinum 6 times, and won Rap Album Of the Year at the Grammys.
What's your favorite song on the LP? This one is mine, even though it was a bonus track. Hey, it gave us YOLO!
Last Monday it was mine (and Diddy's) birthday.
I was so caught up in the festivities.... I didn't post a throwback!
Yes, I know this isn't an official video, but can we all just take a second and appreciate this song. Had 50 and Bey done a video... it would've been EPIC.
Prior to Kylie's "Rise & Shine", her big sister Kim tried her hand at singing.
To honor Kim's 39th birthday today, let's all take a trip down memory lane when Kim debuted Jam.
