Throwback Monday

A friend reminded me today was 11/30, which according to the child of Destiny... those are the same numbers as to when the club is "jumpin', jumpin'".

So, I can't think of a better way to bring back Throwback Monday than with this great throwback.

Throwback Monday

It's been a minute! Since it's my birthday week, and Billboard announced Drake's Take Care album has been on the charts for 7 1/2 years... it's time to honor this momentous occasion. Also, I feel we all need some good music to dance away the anxiety we're all having this week.

Throwback Monday

During the shelter-in-place, I've been catching up on shows I've been meaning to watch and books I've been meaning to read.
So, I've dived into Jessica Simpson's Open Book. It's been a nostalgic trek through time reading about her career from her mortifying tryout for the Mickey Mouse Club, to Newlyweds, the mom jeans drama and now to her current life.
I realized the poor thing has been through SO much!
Simpson just turned 40 last week, so to honor her... this throwback is for her!

Throwback Monday

2020 has been quite a ride, hasn't it?
Today, we were given the sad news that Glee star Naya Rivera was found dead at Lake Piru.
Last week, she went boating with her 4-year-old son, Josey.
Authorities found Josey asleep on the boat, but not Rivera.
Today, Ventura County Sheriff's officials announced Rivera's body was found in the Southern California lake.
No foul play is suspected nor is suicide a factor.
Sending thoughts and prayers to her loved ones during this difficult time.
To honor Rivera, this throwback is her for.
I read her book Sorry Not Sorry some years ago and followed her career as Santana Lopez on Glee.
Not many know, Rivera was a child actress who guest starred in shows like  Bernie Mac and Smart Guy.
Her former Smart Guy costars Tahj Mowry and Jason Weaver , and former Glee costar NeNe Leakes took to Instagram to honor Rivera.

My sweet Naya - to say that I am devastated would be an understatement. This is a nightmare. Everyday gets harder. However, I am holding onto hope that you will be found. ⁣ ⁣ We grew up together. We became adults together. We experienced so many firsts together. You were my first experience with everything; love, intimacy, heartbreak. We broke each others hearts and then mended them back together...more than once. I will never not think of you. No woman has ever measured up what you gave me or how you made me feel. I’ve never liked to admit it but I have never stopped loving you. A part of me always wished for the day where God would bring us back together to be what we dreamt we could have been. ⁣ ⁣ I pray deeply for the Rivera family and that God blankets them with strength, peace, and love right now. Mychal and Nickayla - you will always be like younger siblings to me and I love you dearly. I watched you two grow up into beautiful adults. George and Yolanda - whatever you need I am here for you. We are forever family and I love you. ⁣ ⁣ I ask everyone reading this to please lift up, along with the entire Rivera family, Ryan and Josey in prayer and to respect what they are going through during this time. I pray that God showers the entire family with strength and peace that only He can give. ⁣ ⁣ I still have faith. I still have hope. Let’s please all pray that she is found and brought home safely. ⁣ ⁣ Naya, I miss you deeply. I wish I got the chance to tell you that once more but I’m believing I will get that chance. I know deep down you’ve always known how I felt. I look forward to the day where I can see your beautiful face once more and tell you everything I’ve wanted to say that I didn’t get the chance to say. I love you forever. I always have and I always will. ⁣ ⁣ ♥️

Just learned the terrible news that they’ve recovered a body this morning that authorities believe could possibly be Naya Rivera’s body at Lake Piru. ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ My thoughts and prayers go out to her son, as well as to her extended family. I had the pleasure of working alongside with this beautiful young lady a long time ago when she was just a little girl. She guest starred in an episode of “Smart Guy” back in the day, and I just remember her always being very sweet and nice to EVERYONE she encountered throughout the time she was working with us. I casually ran into her a few years ago back in Los Angeles, and she was still the same nice young lady that I had the pleasure of meeting and working with many years prior. If this is indeed true what some mainstream media outlets are reporting, then it definitely saddens me to learn that she’s no longer here with us.. Rest well, Naya. God bless you. May The Lord be with her family during this difficult time as well. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ #RIP #NayaRivera

Throwback Monday

This week's throwback is in honor of the passing of Grammy-award winning Motown artist, Bonnie Pointer, of The Pointer Sisters

The group is best known for their songs I'm So Excited, Jump and Automatic
She is survived by her brothers Aaron and Fritz and sisters Ruth and Anita Pointer.
Pointer died on Monday, she was 69 years old.
Mama Kaurdashian was a fan of The Pointer Sisters and Automatic was one of the songs she used to replay on a mixtape my uncle made for her. I have many fond memories listening to this song while in the family van going to Girl Scouts, practice, etc.
RIP Miss Bonnie.

Throwback Monday

                                                   Apologies for neglecting this space.
Once the Rona reared its ugly head, my day job has been keeping me busy.
However, I hope you all continue to follow me on the 'gram!
That's where I keep my most up-to-date celeb news.
While I'm not updating this blog, it doesn't mean I'm not up on my celeb gossip and updates.
As a member of the lambily, it isn't lost on me what the rest of us are doing to boost Mother Mariah's old... and looked past albums.
A couple of weeks ago it was E=MC2 and now it's Charmbracelet.
While Charmie as Mariah call it came after her infamous breakdown on TRL, Mimi has always touted it as one of her faves.
So, to honor the album's resurgence here's my fave. It's a perfect message to remember during these unprecedented times.

Throwback Monday In Honor of Kobe Bryant

Today the world said its final good-bye to Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and the 7 others who died tragically last month in a helicopter crash. During today's memorial, Beyonce performed her hit XO, which she says was Kobe's favorite.

Throwback Monday

Eminem made headlines for his surprise performance at the Oscars Sunday night. Prior to that, Em released a new album that is pretty good. A far cry from the other recent ones. So, are we indeed empty without him?

Throwback Monday

While I'm J.Lo Stan, and loved lastnight's halftime performance, I do have to give Shakira her roses. So, in honor of Throwback Monday here is one of my fave Shakira songs.

Throwback Monday: RIP Mamba

Most of the world is still reeling from the sudden death of Lakers and NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Bryant, along with his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Alyssa Altobelli, Christina Mauser, Sarah Chester, Payton Chester, and Ara Zobayan. All nine were killed when the helicopter they were on, flown by Zobayan, crashed in Southern California. My heart aches for those who lost a loved one in this tragic accident. I have family members who are diehard Kobe fans and learned about his greatness through them. I always found Kobe to be a little on the cocky-side, but grew to appreciate him while watching him play. I really enjoyed Kobe's life during his retirement. Seeing him be a hands-on father with his four daughters. It warmed by heart, as it reminds me of my relationship with my dad. With that being said, this throwback is dedicated to Kobe. Many may not remember he attempted to dabble in music. May this video bring a little humor to this sad time.

Throwback Monday

Happy New Year everyone!
It was announced today Miley Cyrus is one of the many performers at this year's Napa Bottlerock Music Festival.
While Smiley Miley has grown up, I can't help but reminisce over the old Miley.
Funny how this song is now the background music to a viral video on Tik Tok!
