Sir Rod Stewart Apologizes for Mocking Terrorist Beheading on Instagram

Rod in the white shirt & glasses

This is why you can't give old folks a social media account!
You all know, Rod has a soft-spot in my heart....and in my soul.

According to TMZ
Sir Rod (and my family's favorite singer) apologized for mocking an ISIS beheading in the desert outside Abu Dhabi.
The video shows Rod, his wife, Penny, and friends climbing a sand dune. One of the friends gets on his knees in front of Rod ... who pretends to cut off the man's head. Penny posted the video ... but deleted it a few hours later, after the immediate backlash started.

The 72 year old issued an apology to The Guardian saying, From re-enacting the Beatles’ Abbey Road crossing to spontaneously playing out Game Of Thrones, we were simply larking about pre-show.
Understandably, this has been misinterpreted and I send my deepest apologies to those who have been offended.
The scene posted on the 'gram is eerily similar to the many ISIS videos that have circulated on the web.
Some Brits are livid by this video and want Stewart's knighthood taken away from him.

Rod Stewart is now a Knight

via Penny Lancaster's Instagram: @penny.lancaster

It was a great day for my family...and singer Rod Stewart's, of course. He's now Sir Roderick David Stewart.
The British rockstar was knighted on Tuesday by Prince William at Buckingham Palace. In a nod to his Scottish heritage, Rod "wore tartan trousers and a scarlet-trimmed military style tunic". The 71 year old singer was honored for his "services to music and charity" according to the Associated Press.
For those who know me, know that my family LOVES Rod Stewart. He's literally an honorary member of my family.
Accompanied by his own little family, wife Penny Lancaster and his two youngest children Alastair and Aiden, Rod says he and Prince William  "talked about music, and he said `It's great that you're still going' and I said: `I have to -- I've got eight children!'

Talking more about his conversation with the Prince, Rod says "he congratulated me on my long career, and I said how happy this made me," Stewart said. "I just wish my mum and dad had been here to see it."
"When the award was announced by Queen Elizabeth II earlier this year, Stewart said it was "a monumental honor." He added: 'I thank her majesty and promise to `wear it well.'"

Throwback Monday

Every summer we'd visit my mom's family in Canada and my grandpa only had an 8-track player in his Lincoln. We had a few choices as to which albums to listen to and among them was Rod Stewart's Blondes Have More Fun album, which I made my grandpa play everyday.
So, when I recently finished Rod's biography and this song came up I automatically had nostalgia and bought this album straight off iTunes.

New Music: "Everyday" - A$AP Rocky Song Ft. Rod Stewart, Miguel and Mark Ronson

If you didn't know how much I loved Rod Stewart, now you do.
He's so loved in my family, it's like he's an honorary member.
So, today when I found out through the Twitterverse that he's featured on a song with A$AP Rocky, I was so excited.
Hip-hop and Rod!? Sure, it's a hook from one of his older songs....but I'll take it.
My two favorite things!
On his latest singl Everyday it features Rod as well as Miguel and Mark Ronson.
It's a great track.

This song will be on Rocky's highly anticipated second album At. Long. Last. A$AP. Rocky.
Who didn't love Love. Live. A$AP.
