Charlie Sheen Reveals He's HIV Positive

"I'm here to admit that I am in fact HIV positive," says the former Two and a Half Men star told the Today Show's Matt Lauer.
Sheen admitted he found out about 4 years ago that he contracted the virus. He also revealed he paid people to keep his status quiet. He says he paid people in the millions to keep this a secret, and he was extorted and betrayed in the process.

Back in 2014, there were rumors of Sheen's HIV status after the Sony hack , when an email from Sony Pictures Television Chairman Steve Mosko alluded to the fact that the actor was HIV positive.
"It's hard to be a drug addict and be HIV positive and do 40 [episodes] a year," Mosko allegedly wrote of Sheen and his work on the FX sitcom Anger Management in a private email sent in March 2014.
Just last week ago, the Sun newspaper in London revealed a "mystery A-lister" had HIV.
When asked whether he knowingly or unknowingly infected some of his sexual partners with HIV, Sheen says that's "impossible."

Watch the interview:

***HIV isn't a joke, and it's a serious virus affecting millions of people around the world. This blog post isn't to meant to be scandalous and spread gossip. It's to shine a light on this situation and urging people to get tested and seek early treatment. We can all say "Well, Charlie did this to himself and blah blah blah," but he's still a human being and considering he's well-known around the world, coming forward with his diagnosis takes a lot of courage.***

Hopefully Sheen will use his life lessons to help others.
