MoneyBall

Being a baseball fan and an Around the Bay Gal, I had to see Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill's new movie Moneyball.

It was my duty as a Baydestrian!

What was cool about this movie was that a lot of my friends and family (my little sister) were extras during the homegame scenes at the Coliseum.

Not only was it great to see a huge movie represent my favorite baseball team starring A-List actors, but it was interesting to learn the economics behind baseball: trading players, salary negotiations, etc.

I vaguely remember the A's winning streak back in '02, so it was good to learn that bit of Oakland A's history and how Billy Beane basically changed baseball.

If you're wondering why I love the A's more than the recent World Series Champs, the S.F. Giants...it's because my VERY first baseball game (when I was just an Around the Baby Baby) was at the 1988 World Series when the A's played the Dodgers.

How cool is that?!
